I wanted to share a quick reminder about human rights that often get misunderstood or overlooked. Everyone has human rights—these are fundamental freedoms and protections that apply to each of us, regardless of our status or position in society.

Sometimes, those in power might try to downplay or ignore certain rights, but it’s important to remember that rights like those outlined in Article 2 (right to life) through to Article 13 (freedom of movement) of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) all apply to you in some way. You shouldn’t be hoodwinked into thinking that some rights are only for certain people.

Whether it’s the right to life, the right to a fair trial, or the right to freedom of expression and movement, these rights form a protective framework for everyone. Knowing your rights helps you stand up for yourself and others.

Have you ever experienced a situation where you felt your rights were ignored or misunderstood? How did you handle it? Let’s discuss!
